Plan for the Future

MISSION:

To recognize, inspire and promote excellence in the Law Practice Management profession.

STRATEGY:

  • Identify and honor extraordinary achievement
  • Support internal and external activities that enhance the development of new knowledge
  • Facilitate information exchange among the Fellows
  • Act as a catalyst for positive change within the profession
  • TACTICS 2003 - 2004:

  • Refine and clarify the nomination criteria and process. (Complete)
  • Nominate and accept new Fellows each year. (Ongoing)
  • Induct and honor new Fellows at the Annual Meeting Dinner. (Ongoing)
  • Maintain a timely, current and user-friendly website.
  • Convert the existing Newsletter to an electronic-only publication and “publish” quarterly. (Complete)
  • Feature Fellows on the COLPM website with biographical information.
  • Create and maintain an “In Memoriam” page for the COLPM website featuring photos and biographical information about deceased Fellows.
  • Identify or create a single project focused on “development of new knowledge” and invest volunteer Fellow involvement. Leverage the project by accumulating and translating the new knowledge through publication and/or media relations and possible partnership with other entities.
  • Identify and pursue partnering opportunities with other law practice management related entities.
  • Structure each year’s annual meeting to include: A provocative, stimulating and relaxed opportunity for the Fellows to interact, debate, etc. · A speaker from outside the Law Practice Management world · Presentations from Fellows.
  • Create a feature, either electronic, in print or in person, that allows sharing by Fellows on “What I’ve been thinking about, lately” with the rest of the College. Promote discussion between annual meetings.
  • Develop and pursue opportunities for Fellows to donate time or services to the College
